New Cafe project. To infinity and Beyond........ALMOST DONE!
« on: November 13, 2011, 03:31:28 AM »
Hello everyone. I wanted to thank everyone for their input into this forum. You have inspired me to start my own project. I picked up a 76 CB750k that was already a Cafe in the making. It was pretty much disassembled when I bought it and I have sent most of the parts out for powder coat. I still need triple trees, lower fork legs, some hand control switches and a front fender. I will post pics along the way. Right now I just have pics of the project when I unloaded at my workshop.

Here are some pics of the progress. Got the frame and wheels back from powder coat. The front wheel is getting trued. Got the motor back in and a lot of the pedals and such installed. Got the gauges back together and started working on the wiring. Also got the cafe seat installed and the tail light installed. Can't wait to hear it run with the Carpy 4 into 1 Yosh recreation.

Sorry. Yes it was in good running condition. I'm going to run the gripace.com system to control turn signals, horn, start etc. I'm going to purchase Exile Cycles knurled grips that have been machined to accept the grip ace application.

Question on the engine colors, what did you use to color the cylinder head black?  What sort of paint for the casings?

Advance auto parts.... Vht engine paint semi glass black and aluminum engine. I stripped the motor before I painted it using aircraft aluminum stripper. I bought it in a spray can from Advance also.

Looking nice man, I have that same seat (duckbill from carpy) for my build. I was looking at carpy's 4-1 exhaust but I'm thinking about saving some bucks and getting mac...
