Topic: Remove?

Please take a look at the picture.  There is a brass looking bushing / jet.  I'm cleaning the carbs on the 74 550.  Does this need to come out?  Does it come out?

clean, inspect. reuse.

Yes, it needs to be removed as it is the mid-range/emulsifier needle jet holder.  You will need to remove the slide and tap it through from the top with a soft, blunt object(pencil maybe).  If the bike had been sitting the orifices are clogged...Larry

I figured as much.  They're in there pretty good.  Soak, soak, soak.  One of the slides is still in carb one.  You sure you didn't make up that mid=range emulsifier flux capacitor term?

Whoa! The mid-range/emulsifier needle jet holder is completely different than the mid=range emulsifier flux capacitor. What ever you do, don't get them mixed up!!

Definitely made it up-figure it covers every description I see people on the forum call it.   I never saw the term emulsifier tube until I found this forum, in the shops I worked in the term was mid range needle jet holder...Larry

Whoa! The mid-range/emulsifier needle jet holder is completely different than the mid=range emulsifier flux capacitor. What ever you do, don't get them mixed up!!

Aw Hell, I got them backwards.  Had to look at the thing in a mirror just to straighten it out.
