Very nice! Just think, you have increased the value of the bike more than you have put into it and cosmetically it is on the high end of the value spectrum. The mechanical work has boosted it to anyone who has ever worked on one of these bikes or knows the value of the sweat equity and $$ you have put into it. It is going to be a great bike you will enjoy for many years and miles.  Take a complete set of detailed high resolution pictures to document all the work and condition of the bike. Definitely insure it for what its worth (stated value policy).

Thanks Steve-o! It turned out nice but I'm not sure how long the S-100 will last.

I have an old pic of the engine.

Thank you for the compliment. I'm getting there slowly if it would just cool down. Great weather is right around the corner.  ;)

As far as value yes, it increased but more than that is the dependability. I have more in it then it's probably worth but the market is increasing on the 81/82 models. Price of 79/80 models are driving the price up on these.

I did a special order from Clearview shields so I'm waiting on that. Another oil filter cover is being done as the one I got arrived damaged. Once I get the rear of the bike done then flip it around on the lift and start on the front.  ;) New brakes, rebuild calipers, master cylinder, send the rotors to Michigan for a resurface, forks and tire.

After three (3) days an and estimated fourteen (14) hours of work this part is done. Waiting on parts is a killer of time.  ::)

Adjusted rear chain, bled the rear brake, installed oil cooler and lines and finished a few spots on the center stand with paint. Adjusted the brake pedal height a little more to my liking. Cleaned up the shop and wiped down the tools putting them where they belong.  8)

I'll concentrate on finishing up the fairing when the wind screen arrives and changing out the hardware on one saddlebag. All riveted in so it should be another challenge.  ;)

Hopefully by the end of September the weather will cool a bit and I'll start on the front.

More work today on the CBX. This was a lot of work because the exhaust is all one piece.  ::)

After installing new gaskets you have to guide the front and get the rear brackets somewhat close. They don't line up until you start to draw the exhaust in at the cylinder head. I did the left side first because of the side and center stand. Wrong!  :o

The right side was worse due to the fact of the crossover pipe, male end, has to slide into the left side which is a female end. Note to self..right side first next time.  ;)

Spent about one (1) hour or better on each pipe using various cleaning products. Had to "nip it in the bud" on reproduction exhaust due to "cost overruns" and a shrinking budget.

On we go but at least it's in the right direction now.

It's about time you get a CBX isn't it? I gaze at the motor quite often. It's quite a bit of engineering to say the least. A little more complicated than a SOHC so work goes slower.

No, that is a lift from Harbor Freight. Mikki got me that for Christmas in 2010. Best gift I could receive. Look in the back of magazines and you can pick the foot model up for $299.00. The air assist models are more but you have the option of side mounts for a bigger area. I had to build side ramps for this one but it's  8)

This is not the air assist lift? Any complaints on the Harbor Freight lift? I HAVE to get a lift!

Your thread on this bike is NOT doing me any favors. I need to have one again, even if all I can do is look at it.

You can buy them for $299.00. I might have a coupon if you need it. The chock is useless.

Ok,ok..my mistake!  ;D

By all means I have loved this lift. There are better ones but for me it's been a life/back saver. Wish I had this when building my Hayabusa.  ;)

Just go buy one! Jag might sell his 82, not doing anything to it. Yet. Just go get one. You will never regret it.  8)

That cuts deep...lol
It is true that I have not done that much to/with it in a while.  Been running around alot, riding the 450 and just trying to enjoy my summer before getting back into the swing of school, I am finishing up my aerospace engineering degree.
