If your "secret" idea is a twist clutch, it has been done before.

If not that, I am curious.... ;D

I have actually rode a few bikes with those twist-grip clutches, and once you get used to
them, as anything, they become 2nd nature, and do a hell  of a job cleaning up the bars
(along with a internal throttle)

thats not it...but im not good at keeping secrets. here it is..its crazy...but o well, innovation is the key to everything. what i want to do is run a twist throttle on the left side. run the cable to the shift lever...roll back on the "shifter throttle" and the gear lever up shifts. only used for up shifts...and it will be clutchless. i wanted to use a switched throttle and reverse it or run it backwards on the bar (be on there as though its on the right side, cable to the outside). these switched throttles can activate nitrous or anything electronic. so i was gonna run it to an ignition kill box...kill the ignition will it shifts, ignition turns right back on as soon as you back off the throttle. if i cant use a switched throttle, then i can buy kill boxes that are activated when the shift lever moves. these are normally used for foot operated clutchless upshifts..this is a little different and all hand operated...crazy, yes...innovative yes...possible..i hope!

Get your self a Quick Shifter tied into a Air shifter, problem solved. 8)

What you are trying to do can be done (i've done it), but the less things that you need to think about in a drag race, the better.

The main reason for wanting to convert to hand controls, is usualy the inability to get your feet on the pegs under fast launches (that was the reason I did it).

I found it easier to lower the foot pegs so you are tip toeing into stage with the pegs half way up the heel of your boot.
On green (hopefully ;D) your feet only need to come up a few inches, then shift the gears manualy.

In respect of your ram air thread, forget it.
