Hey rice, those pods look like the el cheapo parts n more style.  If they are, the rubber boot can pop out or leak pretty easy.  My filters would actually turn on the boot or fall off if you bumped them.  Just something to think about, maybe some silicone around the lip would be order if you kept them on.

here in spring the temperature changes from day to night can be observed with floats overflowing back thru the hose clamps on occasion. rubber is not compatible with gas and will deteriorate quickly.pods look cool tho . I too have a simular mod to make with my filters but dealing with the diameters ,o.d. of pods are exactaly the o.d. of the carbs . the i.d of the pods is less than the i.d of the carbs. The restriction should be more than over come by the improved air flow and adjustments too eqaulize air flow across the pods with baffles or shields proir to messing with carbs.airfoil type shields will create hi and low pressure zones and protect the pods when the bike is sitting in rain.simpler solution is high performance filter for a stock air box if you want to ride instead of tinker in the driveway

i had to take them off, you guys were right , the lenght of the filters totally destroyed the way the engine ran, although it could have also been a litle bit of it running on 3 cylinders and me not even knowing it(i thought it was supposed to be slow). Im really getting tired of tryin to make this thing ridable and i just bought a complete JDM B16A2 swap for my civic, what do you guys think i could get for the bike RUNNING.

Put the stock airbox back on with a new filter and enjoy riding it!

Agreed, if you want to ride, get a stock airbox and filter. This will simplify tuning and you be riding much sooner.

well I have yet to see one person on this site that has not had trouble getting pods set up. I prefer the airbox but the pods do have their look. My main thing is not wanting to money with rejetting and buying new jets and not having anything supporting the rear of the carbs. I am not as hardcore as tt about keeping things stock though.

shoulda seen the great battery debate a few months ago. A person wanted to go battery-less which I think would be great but certain others were completely against it. I understand why and I agree with the reasons why to keep a battery yet innovation is how improvments come around. A person here is running a magneto on his bike instead of the normal generator.
