I finally got my on the road!!
« on: May 18, 2006, 03:28:33 PM »
After 2 years of the farmer telling me he lost his key to the deposit box to get the Title out.  His wife had the key the whole time, opened it up and there was the title.  It is running on the road now!!!  It is legally mine now.  If you have forgotten who me is:  I found a 1975 Honda CB400f with 2,600 miles on it.  The farmer bought it new got scared and put it in his barn for all these years.  Looks brand new and runs brand new.  The best part is I paid $400.00 for it, and put $150.00 into it.  I have been riding it for 3 days and put 200 miles on it.  Now I am wondering if I should just put it away or just keep riding.  What would you all do??

Nice one Kenny, if you have put 200 miles on it in 3 days you must like riding it.

Answer to your question, keep riding, be safe.

Sweet find Ken. Sounds about like my story. Bought my 76 750K for $200 and might have another $300-$400 in it. ;D The PO got aggravated with it cause he couldnt get it to crank. All it needed was a set of plugs and a little TLC.  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

Im looking for a 400 at the moment.......hope I can find a deal like yours.

Man - I can't believe you waited all this time for the title.  I couldn't have waited.  I remember the bike - if I recall I helped post the pics back then!

AWESOME FIND!!!  I only wish that I had found it.

I would ride it.  However, being a bit of a "purist", I would lose the fairing and get some factory-correct handlebars.

Just ride it and HAVE FUN!!!!!

The 400 WAS the best one made.  ;D

My two cents is go ride it. I can't wrap my mind around the concept of someone getting a bike and letting it sit hoping it'll gain value. The bike was made to go out riding, not to sit around like a museum showpiece. If you want to collect something, try shot glasses or postcards or somesuch. I collect shot glasses. They take up very little room and don't leak everywhere. ;D

Peace and Long Rides,
