CB500 clutch - couple of questions before reassembly
« on: November 17, 2011, 07:59:33 AM »
The clutch wouldn't disengage when I pulled in the lever on the CB500 I'm working on. I tried kicking it over with the lever pulled in, and I tried starting it in gear but nothing I did made any difference. Now I know why: all of the plates were stuck together. I was able to separate them with my fingers though, and cleaned them up as best I could. Before I put it all back together, just want to make sure that the plates look ok. What do y'all think? They're all in the same condition as these:

Also, doesn't this push in flush? I can't seem to get it to go in all the way (that's what she said)

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

I'm keeping an eye on your responses.  What did you clean the plates with?
