Another Noob...
« on: November 18, 2011, 12:22:26 PM »
Hello,
I found this place a few months ago and lurked for a little while. I just became the owner of a really nice 1972 CB750 Four. I have been a fan of these bikes and Honda's in general since I was a kid (first bike was a Trail 50 when I was 5) and have always wanted one.I plan on doing a few little custom things to it but not a lot. I would like to do an 836 kit on the engine, possibly dual disc up front, and a slightly wider tire in the rear. Since I am new to working on one of these I will be asking plenty of questions. Looking forward to gettin' to know everyone.

Welcome TTT. Looks like you've got a solid K2 750 there. Are those ape hangers on it, they've got to go ;) Give us a little info on your 750. How and where did you find it. how many miles etc. Also post some more pics. Is that other bike the ass end of a Harley V-Rod?

So sorry it took so long to be back! I have had a very crazy few months. Anyway the bike is a one owner bike that was willed to me. My mothers boyfriend had it. He had a nasty heart attack a few years back. Luckily I had just happened to stop by on my way home from a long bike ride. I walked in the door to my mom screaming and him on the floor. Long story short I called 911 and gave him CPR until the paramedics showed up. After surgery, sometime in the hospital, and rehab he is fine. Last year he decided to gift the bike to me on his 'second' birthday as he knew I loved it.

It is in great shape and only has 10k miles on it. It's in just as good of shape as my VRod! I'll get some pics posted ASAP.

The VRod is an '04. The tins were polished and plated. Everything else I powder coated black in my homemade oven. I put a 200 rear tire on the custom wheels made by Hog Pro (powder coated black before you could buy black wheels). I had the rotors and pulleys made to match the wheels. Added drag bars and had the motor slightly modded with tuning and pipe. I'll post some pics of tha too.

I gotta get back to work now. More later.

Belated welcome TTT.  Must be a good feeling knowing you saved someone's life :)  The 750 looks immaculate-as does your work area ;) My area would look the same if the half dozen bikes and boxes of parts weren't crapping it out  ::) ...Larry

Harley 16 inch wheel conversions were popular for CB 750s. Allows for a 130/90 on the rear. Lowers bike approx 1/2 inch. Spoke kits are available through Buchananspokes.com. Lots of info here on the forum.
