"Houston... the '75 CB400F has landed".
« on: November 19, 2011, 07:37:49 PM »
Howdy Y'all. I've had the itch for a vintage Honda motorcycle for a couple of years now. I "scratched" and scored a pristine, all original '75 400F. It's been in storage for years and working to bring it back to all its glory. No big problems (yet) just the usual issues with a bike put away for years. Runs good... looks good. Looking forward to all the wisdom and resources here on the forum. Thanks to all those responsible for maintaining and participating on the SOHC Forum.

G'day Retro. Been a bit of a bludger and slow to post a pic. Here's your typical red '75 but pretty special to me.

Welcome! Thats a nice clean bike you scored there. Congrats. Those 400F's don't come up for sale very often.

Welcome from Lake Travis!  Your bike looks great.

Let me know when it's ready to hit some great roads in the Hill Country.

Stevo,
I know every road in the Hill Country like the back of my hand. Parents and Grandparents are from those parts and my brother currently lives in Bandera. I've ridden through there my entire life including most of the dirt roads on my dual sports. Riding those roads on the sweet little 400F is top of my agenda, but I've got quite a bit to do to make it long distance worthy. It's been stored for years and while the engine and transmission seems fine, I've several electric gremlins to fix, new tires, suspension work, etc.. All minor and all fun to do. Congratulations for living in the Austin area with all epic two wheel roads to ride!
Yes... we need to get our "old" bikes together for play time. Woody

Yeah, let's do it!  Sounds like you have a couple months of work there, I'll be waiting (and riding!)

Good luck.

Welcome aboard, I have quite a few Honda buddies down around your area Houston (Cypress). This Hobby is actually a very fun pastime to "play" with. As with these classics after riding them, you MUST take off all the bugs, wipe the rims, pipes and anything you can think of to bring it back to like never used condition...LOL
Nice lookign bike you have there for sure!  ;)
