Any reason a '77 400F Petcock wouldn't work on a '75 400F Tank?

Different part numbers but the blow up looks like it's the same petcock.  30 buck difference between the two.

I'm not sure of the relevant years but there were two different tank bung sizes and two corresponding petcocks: one size will not fit on the other. I think from 75 to 77 the size would definitely have changed. I have both types, but I don't know their years. I'm pretty sure the 76 has the larger bung and the smaller bung type looks simpler and cheaper so I'll guess it was a 77 thing - maybe changed when they went to the lid tank from the filler flap type.

yes. the filler flap 77 tank has a completely different tap and they won't swap over.
