I would say drive it around for a couple days, and then check the outside plugs again.

Let us know.

I think it is too early to make any more decisions.

Will do. I think I figured out some air box assembly mistakes I made, too. I'll get that right, clean/oil the filter and get the snorkle back on and see what that does.
She runs really nice with good engine temps, but the exhaust temps may be a touch high....a little over 400 degrees. Nowhere on the head or cylinders is anywhere close to 300 degrees, mostly in the low-mid 200's.

Hi guys, i'm currently doing a project bike, it's a 1977 Honda CB550K3. I had the baffles of the stock 4 into 4 exhaust removed and I would be using UNI Foam Air Filter Pods, 38mm, PK3 model.

Here is a listing of information for the stock 1977 HONDA CB550K3 Keihin type PD46A carburetors:
Carburetor:  PD46A
Main Jet Size:  90
Air Jet Size:  130
Slow Jet Size:  38
Slow Air Jet Size:  150
Main Jet Needle:  E2349F
Needle Setting:  3rd Groove

What jettings and settings would you guys recommend that I use?

hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone has ever jetted these pd's for open headers and pods before and can give me a reference number as to which main jet/set up they're using. I've tired 100's (good idle, any amount of throttle twist kills bike), 115's (some back fire on idle, wouldn't drive smoothly, bike would jerk forward a bit at certain points or die). Any help appreciated.

^^^110 mains and adjust the needle clip. The needle position will make the biggest difference.

What needle clip position do you recommend? You've used 110 with success before with open 4to4 headers and pods? I was thinking I would need to go 120 or higher.
