Thanksgiving Has Slipped Upon Us!
« on: November 23, 2011, 01:00:19 PM »

I just want to take this time to say that, while I haven't been around for quite some time, I still feel like you all are extended Family.  8)

With that being said, I want to say that I Hope that You ALL Have a Great Thanksgiving. We've certainly got alot to be Thankful for.  And Don't forget those who HAVE fought for our freedom and THOSE who are STILL fighting.  ;)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Bill. It's kind of a down time in this area right now. The woman that shot all her kids and than killed herself in Pleasent Garden, NC  lived only a short distance from us and my two sons knew the kids that were shot and I think the latest report is that all the kids that were shot have now past away. What a terrible tragedy. How can a human being do something like this.

Thanks Brother, appreciate that. We're still working (mainly Me) on getting on with things.

My heart And Prayers go out to them and you all and ALL that the shooting affected. That is Terrible, at ANY time, much less around Thanksgiving. Just now that you all are also in my thoughts. I wish I KNEW how someone could do something like that and could prevent it. What a loss.

Yeah Bill, I'm still working on it and I keep learning about how it goes, when trying to get through a close personal loss. I've learned that there is NO set process and it's always gonna pop up and rattle you now and then.

One thing that is working on distracting me, is the fact that I am going to be 65yrs old this coming March and I am getting all kinds of stuff about Medicare and I have to get that sorted out, so I can see what I need to do for ME.  ::)  Hope you all have a Great one Bill.  ;)

As a young kid startin in kids karate, the instructor sized me up and  said "look at those boats" referring to my feet, and the name stuck. So did my jump spinning back kick.  8)

As Thanksgiving arrives and people should be sitting down to a great meal with family, I am so disheartened in the commercial aspect of what Thanksgiving has become. It has now become just some kind of run up to Christmas. I read about these big box stores opening earlier and earlier and wonder what has become of our family holidays. It looks like a sad situation that will only get worse.

But enough on the bad part...I wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving.

Indeed it has Bill, I'm glad everything is going well for you.  It's hard to believe that another year is coming to a close already, it has just flew by.  Anyway Happy Thanksgiving to all my SOHC4 brother and sisters!

Yeah, my Dad's still here and doing pretty well. They were able to get him back to where he can have his drinks thickened, like I was doing it before. He has to have his food blended and that has messed up my taking him out to eat, as he mainly would get Chicken Fried Steak. Kinda hard to get enthused about fixing the Thanksgiving Meal anymore. Karla has a new worker and will be having lunch with her and her family (I was invited, but I'm just not into it), Dad will be having his lunch at the Assisted Living Place and I will be going up there around 1 or so and spend some time with him. He's doing pretty good though. His memory is slipping some more. Of course, I've been expecting that. After all, he will be 87 this year. Guess that about covers it.
Thanks for asking.  ;)

Ya know, when I was young and wishing for my 13th b'day, then my 16th, etc, My Mother would tell me each time that I shouldn't wish my life away because the day will come that time will fly by and you can't do anything about it. In fact, she told me that, as I grew older, the time would seem to go by faster. All that time, I was thinking, "Yeah, Right Mom"! Of course, the time came a long time ago, that I realized she knew what she was talking about.  ::) Nowdays, time just seems to "Roll On", no matter what happens.

But anyway, I thank you and I Hope you all (and everyone else) Have a Really Great Thanksgiving.  ;)
