Decal or paint
« on: November 23, 2011, 06:18:50 AM »
Is there a stripe kit for the CB350F1 fuel tank?

Or when you repaint the tank will the stripes have to be repainted as well?
If it ain't raining, I'm riding.....~~{iii}?~~prost

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

Plus $150 for a paint kit that matches OEM.  Some of the reasons a nice original bike is worth good money.

Only got mine done a few weeks ago, found a good painter who painted on the stripes for me. Might be worth going this route if your paint job isn't in good condition and the whole tank needs to be resprayed. If the rest of the tank is good and the stripes bad just go for the decals.

dude, 22 seconds on google.

Thanks man..........................you are right..................I was at work when I asked the question.

Yep....pretty expensive, but as you say.........reason nice originals bring good money.

I however, am not going back with original, wifey wants the Honda orange color.

So, I'm in the tear down phase of the fork covers, ears, and side covers.

Not sure if I want to do the headlight bucket in same color..........thoughts, ideals?

If the ears are painted, match the bucket.  It will look more vintage and late 60's that way.  IMHO.  PS, I like the sunburst orange metallic, my 550 was that color originally but sadly the paint was too far gone and the tank was dented severely.  I am considering a paint and decal set as original, or a cafe, depends on the market.

Yea the ears are painted the same green as the tank was.....................

So your suggestion is the paint all parts the same color?...............kewl.

I have the bucket hanging right now anyways, just would have to pull the wires out.

Cost me €500 for the whole lot including pulling out a big dent and filling it, that's what about $650?
