71 CB500 4-2 versus 4-1 exhaust
« on: November 28, 2011, 08:16:51 PM »
I have a grubby old 4-2 exhaust that I was considering adding some reverse megaphones. My other alternative is a 4-1 system like offered by MAC. I am looking for info on which would provide better performance without requiring a ton of jetting changes. I plan on running the factory air box.
Thanks for the help!

I had the Mac on my 550 for a short while before I went back to stock, and performance was unaffected- no re-jetting required. Looked real good too.

claimed performance gains with exhaust mods are very hard to quantify on the street...the only thing you can really be sure of is weight loss...4 into 1 should be lighter than a 4 into 2...
If it works good, it looks good...

use the mac if you don't want to rejet but you would get better performance out of the 4 into 2 but most likely would have to rejet
