Front fairing showed up today, lovin it !

I need to try and get out to my parents to sandblast this damn tank! Been workin like a mofo  so I havent had alot of time to work on the bike.

Ordered a new speedo cable today, and a set of Mini Gauges, I want to re do the top triple clamp, and I thought why not add a set of mini gauges and clean it up alot more?

Got some work done tonight,

Headlight ears thrown on to get an idea of how everything is going to sit

Held the fairing up, need to get some bolts to double nut the stud to hold the fairing on.

Looks like everything will be lined up fine, the mini gauges should be here by the end of the week,

Still waiting on this to show up

Everything is moving right along now... Waiting on another email from Ken at Cycle X, we have been discussing exhaust and ignition options for the bike. Since I will road race this bike, I want the best tuning and performance I can get out of it.

Heres the top triple and front fender (both just sitting there)

and close up of oil tank side cover

Does anyone have a larger picture of this honda logo too? I want a fairly large one for a decal for the shop.

Thanks

The red triple clamp and fender look very good.
I like the color of the red chosen also.

So I put the bike in the basement for the winter and to do the work on it.

The front fender was pretty trashed, couple of dings and the normal surface rust. So being cheap, I took the grinder and chopped it down a bunch

Now before people go on about fork stability, I also have a Fork Brace going on the front end.

The tank has been removed (whoa, slow down, that took about 1 minute, were moving too fast here)

The tank is going to the body shop, as well as the re pop side covers (whenever I get them) and when the bikini fairing shows up. The front and rear fender will be chopped down a little bit more and then cleaned up and sent the body shop also

There are two kinds of fork braces.
One kind simply joins the for tubes together, good for extended forks. Has to be mounted high enough to accomodate wheel travel up and down.
The SECOND kind joins the two lower fork legs together (mounts on the fork sliders), and makes the two fork legs travel up and down together to keep the front wheel from wanting to tilt.
It acts just like a fender but is heavier material.

So here is the new set of signal lights I got.

They are close to looking stock, but about 75% smaller

They are fairly bright when i hooked them up to the battery, going to be removing the factory fork ears, the stock ones are fairly rotten, going to put a universal set on for the time being, going to be searching on ebay for a good stock set over the winter, maybe even over the summer.

So I got looking at the front end, going to paint the top triple tree in red to match the red stripe going down the center of the tank.  Fairly simple change that will update the look drastically.
I have a set of stock turn signals for a 1978 CB750 K if you are interested. $10. +shipping. Perfect shape but the black steel part needs repainting.
Send me a PM .
