1978 CB550K Carb compatibility
« on: December 01, 2011, 06:38:57 am »
I just bought a pretty nice 1978 CB550K barn find.  It's missing the carb float bowls.  Are there any other years or models with compatible float bowls.  Just figure it might be easierto find some if i have more options then i'm aware of.

Thanks,

Brian

I think 77 78 "K" carbs are the only ones. They are called PD carbs.

MAYBE 77/78 750 auto as they use the same carb kit, but then they are another chromed rocking horse.

How many float bowls are you missing and which ones as i know a man who has some spare but we are in the UK so postage will not be cheap.

P.M me if you want me to look

There's also the PD50A or B carbs that were on the 79-80 CB650. Watch out though, as the bowls are different from each other except from carb 3 and 4...1 has a drain screw that faces the opposite way and 2 has the accelerator pump (which isn't present on the 550 PD carbs).
