North Coast

Hello, Picked up a '78 CB550 yesterday.  I was a t a local used car dealership fixing a buddies van for him and seen this forlorn bike sitting in a corner.  Covered in dust, last tagged in '93.  Odometer shows 19k miles.  I have dabbled briefly in bikes in the past having had a '73 TS250 enduro, a 650 yamaha, a 73 CB350, but I never made it past my endoresment when I had the enduro 20 years ago.  I have built an run derby cars, and dirt track cars up to dirt late models and currently race dirt karts in the clone class.  So I am not unfamiliar with things mechanical.  My ACVW has benifited greatly from the VW forum I frequent and I hope to have the same experiance here.

A pic from the phone:

Howdy!   :)

It'll always be worth more stock. ;)

I honestly think I am inclined to clean it up make it run as is.  The tank paint seems to have some crazing on it but isn't to bad.  Some of the chrome trim around the side pods is pretty bad but I may just sand that and use a silver hammertone paint to hide the pitting.  Dont figure I went to wrong for $250
