New pipe on the GS for Juha
« on: December 01, 2011, 03:33:41 pm »
only if he wants to come over in April
I shelved the SS Supertrapp for a Competition Bassani System and this thing has a bark to it
hope it makes better power than the Supertrapp but I think my shop vac made more power than it did

Get painted and off to the dyno........(NO I AM NOT USING WRINKLE BLACK BILL......:):):) )

this one is NOT quite as there is no baffle and  4 inch dia end pipe
I will have to make one but would really like to find someone that has the
competition baffle that I can copy.

Its here if you can make it Juha just let me know
as soon as I get the baffle made its going to the dyno for a tune
and it will remain a street bike

it use to have one but its wasn't part of the deal when I bought it
or at least he didn't have it anymore................
need a picture to replicate or prints or a sketch or something................
Or I will just make one that I think will work and still be some what obnoxious and annoying

I received a textmessage today from my mechanic, or should I say a friend who I've known for well over 20 years...
A few years back I let him ride my street-GS, 1166cc, JMR-head, Cam Motion G4 cams, RS40's etc. etc. you get the picture.

As most of you understand, a ride like that can get you all "inspired".
Ok, so we found him a 1982 Katana 1100 project bike, I helped him every way I could, gave him a list of parts he needs to buy, ordered stuff from the States, contacted Mike about the head porting and so on -> he spent a fortune in parts etc.
1135cc Wiseco, JMR-head, Stanley Gardner crank, FBG undercut transmission, the list goes on and on.

Yeah well, there was a long term relationship ending, (for him, not for me)
and all the usual sh1t we people go through and now things have come to the point he wants to sell the bike as it is now.

He wants someone who knows what it's worth to buy it and I really, really feel I have to adopt the bike ::)

This affects pretty much everything I'm gonna do next year but in a way I would be lucky to buy that bike, after all I picked all the parts and put the engine together... I know exactly what's going on and I've always dreamed of owning a Katana  ::)

Did I mention it's REALLY CHEAP?!?

How to get it to states?
He doesn't have the baffle that I need does he?

Sleeper?? Now didn't i read somewhere that it was not going to be a race bike but remain a street bike??? Why the need for the hipo parts just to cruise the streets?? Seems like Jims got something up his sleeve. Lol.

Lets see
1500cc with 30lbs of boost
and a shot of nitrous to get it off the line until the turbo spins up

I still need to put the training wheels on the CBR and see if this is something that I might want to do

but I keep hanging around you guys and you never know

I will never make a lay down turbo bike but I might turn my SOHC into a street turbo
and the GS a sleeper street bike If Juha gets all the parts he suppose to be getting

I am not going to sell the GS so I might as well start that on the project list (But still thinking about that)
but its still a very nice original street bike that has never seen track time with only 17k on the clocks

But

The reason i asked is you were inquiring about the lay down set up in the 750A ad. I actually have a GS car tire conversion chassis with one piece Katana 1100 fiberglass body along with the wheelie bars. It needs a set of wheels and a front end. I used the wheels on my Top sportsman bike. I think i may have parts of that front end someplace but not sure.
