Nice one guys, I see you have sorted the problem with your 750 Mike, and Larry you can garage Bikie for a few days as the weather is coming your way in buckets. ;)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

It was Nancy (Mark) who had issues with his 750.
Over the Holidays we took Godzilla over "The Hill"
Sadly not on a SOHC 4 It was a Honda at least,a 2005 Odyssey or as I like to call it a GL2250 Goldwing  ;)

after a great ride the long way thru the Shenandoah to Reefton, found the local pub closed, and no beer in the fridge.

on the way thru the Lewis Pass

out the other side, what fantastic weather for blasting thru the mountains.

GZ stops for some liquid amber at Culverden

safely home in Christchurch, GZ gazes upon the central city. still not allowed in there yet. this is a 27 storey building being dismantled before it falls over

Great pics Scunny. I have been dying to ride a bike through NZ, but hire places are few and far between, might have to buy a bike and leave it at the inlaws.... :D

Getting used to it, the forward controls don't faze me now like they did, the clutch is still a killer but I'll tame that too.
I found just getting out on it every day helped me get over my shyness of riding a cruiser with 1400cc's.
Gotta figure out how many k's I can get to a tankful as now I have something reliable and with long legs I'm getting invites from work mates to trips and runs all the time.
Latest is "The Chateaux to the plateau" on the 29th but I think I'm working, would be a good run from Turangi to Taranaki. :)

Scunny - awesome job with the camera fella! Love those pics. Whatz with the shot on top of what looks like a Britten with Stoud's name on it? Where's that and what connection...is that a dealership, museum,..Britttenvillia?

Hush - my experience with larger pack rides - such as the Chateau to Plateau is: terrific scenery that you cannot see because the entire ride you will be pre-occupied with keeping your arse safe. The rides are always littered with a larger than comfortable group of shows-offs on their high perf crotch rockets. I haven't done this particular ride - but will do it solo or with 1 or 2 other bikes - no more. It is worthy of enjoying.
Did the Palmy to WGTN "Bikoi" - protest ride in Nov 2009 and was amazed by the stupidty of other riders around me - 500 or more bikes in the convoy to Whitby and from there - heck a thousand or more I guess. Lots of bikes seems to bring out the worst of behaviour in some riders.
I did the Coast to Coast - Himitangi to Akitio in November 2011 - 300+ bikes and was glad I got home safe. Was passed on BOTH sides on corners, saw 2 bikes go down and will never do it again. Very similar roads and surface to the "Forgotten Highway" being narrow and a lot of blind bends. Good fun on a SOHC without 300 other bikers looming behind..OK 200..I had 100 ahead of me. I did it on the Sprint - so I was competitive - but not crazy. To make matters worse - I was warned by other riders...don't go..it is crazy. No more pack rides for me.
After that - went over to Wanganui for the Cemetery Circuit races on Boxing day - similar thing - dozens of screaming meemies and throbbing harleys rouring past at crazy speeds. Very bad karma for an old bugger who doesn't have the tag "Rocket" in his handle.. ;)

Yep I'm pretty choosey who I ride with these days, don't have the lightning fast reflexes of my youth. ;)
Riding with a couple of good mates who I know and know they can ride suits me better these days, I think until I'm fully conversant with the 1400 I 'll be the biggest worry to them. ;D

photos of Godzilla on the "Stroud" Britten were taken at Casbolts, local Honda and Ducati dealer. temporary home for the bikes since the Britten workshop is in the red zone.

Yeah baby, around the world he goes, don't forget to send the blue bungie Larry lol the Ocker's might need it.
;DThat chain on the Britten looks like it needs lube! :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

GZ is flying to Melbourne(Australia) to meet up with TIA.

They are hoping to take GZ to the Phillip Island Classic Races, 27th to 29th along with Brian if he is fit enough.

Make sure GZ gets there on time Larry. 8)
