Where to find emblems
« on: November 03, 2011, 05:39:59 PM »
I am wondering if anyone knows where to find emblems. I have a 1978 CB750F super sport and I only have one tank emblem and one side cover emblem. I would like to have one on each side. I did a search and couldn't really find where anyone has been able to find emblems. I found that Z1 enterprises has the side cover emblem I need, but I can't find anyplace to get the tank emblem. I don't care if it is used, I searched ebay and everything.

Try searching eBay with very vague terms.  I know you will have to sift through a bunch of auctions but I bet you find the emblems under some generic terminology.  Post a pic of what you need, I have a couple dozen in a bag here.

These are the emblems I have:

I'm not too worried about the condition of any emblems, I work in the metal finishing industry so I can restore most things. Like I said, I found the side cover emblem, but another source (or a used one from somewhere) might still be helpful.

I have found a bunch of emblems on ebay and craigslist, but they are just the Honda emblem and not the super sport one. If I have to I will just buy two of the Honda ones from a K model I suppose.

That one must be unique to the 78F, I haven't got it for sure.  Maybe another member now that we have pics?

Yeah, after some research it appears that this tank emblem was only on the '77 and '78 F models, it is turning out to be pretty hard to find. I guess it's not the end of the world if I have to buy a pair of different ones.

Even the "K" model for those years are getting hard to find as well as every other part for the "F" and "K" model.

Where is the $40 one? Z1 wants $52 a piece for the side cover emblems.

After some time waiting for some emblems for my K1 to appear, I finally bit the bullet and bought them original in Honda. Expensive for being a piece of plastic, but cheap for the time I saved.

I bet those are still available from Honda, you just need to know the part number.

Doesn't look like the tank emblems are reversable.

I got to the shopping cart and it didn't say unavailable but I would have some reservations.

I wonder how you can tell the difference?  I told KJ790 that I had one tank emblem he could have but now I'm not sure which side it's for?  I can only see that there would be got to be a difference in the location of the mounting pins.
