'75 CB550K Petcock
« on: December 04, 2011, 09:03:10 AM »
Does anyone know where to find a petcock for a '75 CB550K? The ones on Ebay look pretty rough. Is there any other type that will work for this particular model? I dont feel like paying $75 for one either.  If anyone has one lying around, I could sure use it.

Thanks in advance!

is yours the single outlet or dual outlet? I might have a spare kicking around I could look for if it's the dual outlet....might just need new o-ring and seal

On the 1975 CB 550 K models I have had in my garage, they usually comes with a petcock without a bowl, filter goes up into to the tank. Often enough on eBay;

This one does not show if it is 1 or two outlet, shoud be two.

or the other model which has another tank connection:

The tank connection point tells you all about which model you can use, normally the first one.

Try David Silverspares, too.

The one you pointed out Lars has not performed well.
I was going to purchase it at Western Hills and they informed me they have been known to starve the bike of fuel. Making a lean runner which my 78 is even more lean.  They even recommend I try to find a different one. SHocking a company would do this but I appreciated it and will definately go back there when I need more.

I wish I could answer your questions. I bought the bike without the petcock. PO had clamped a hose to the drain hole which ran into a fuel filter, ran a hose from the filter to a T-junction and then into two seperate lines running to the carbs. Not pretty, but it worked. So,,,,,,, long answer to your question, I am not sure what type should go on it.

Any '75 550K owners out there wanna help? I am also wondering if any of the Dime City Cycle ones will fit.
