Air. Fuel. Spark....it has to be one of the three.

You've already chosen to NOT source an air box and to run the bike without pods or anything on the intakes (This makes your air/fuel ratio LEAN) just to see if you can get it to run...
You haven't adjusted carbs from stock jetting to compensate for the leanness, so your air/fuel ratio is way off.

...and still you wonder why your bike wont run on all cylinders.  ::)

Sorry, man.  I'm out.

Understood man.  I just assumed if I had a fue/air issue, I'd be having issues on all 4, not just 1 set of cylinders that happen to be on the same set of points/coil.  I understand with it running so lean, it will run like crap.  I'm trying to source the top of an airbox if I can, but until I can do so, I'm just working with what I have.  I'll continue to read the forums and work in silence until I'm at a point where its appropriate to ask questions again.

I think if 1 and 4 are firing wouldn't that indicate coils and points are ok? Each coil fires 1/3 and 2/4. If points or coils would bad then a combination of those wouldn't fire? I would look into carbs and plug boots as stated before. 1 and 4 could have proper a/f but 2 and 3 might not. Maybe try finding just the airbox chamber and boots? Thats all I have + a coupling going to a cone filter and I'm hoping it'll suffice for stock jets.

I have the part that connects to the carbs and the airbox that sits under the seat.  I don't have a top for that box or anything that goes in it.  Just posted a WTB ad to see if I can source what I'm missing and will go from there.

The first one in that list is what I'd need.

coils rarely go bad, but plugs caps do...

I need to track down an 18mm thin walled socket
