Steel chrome rear 17 inch rims
« on: December 07, 2011, 02:09:23 AM »
Who can supply steel chrome rear 17 inch rims to fit a 750K7? I could remove the spokes and re-chrome but having a new stock appearance type rim is ideal for me.
I dug and dug yet nothing to be found  :(  What's a MFer to do.............

Salvage yard search for a rim off one of these bikes.
Part # = 42701-425-771
Part Description = RIM, REAR WHEEL - (replaces 42701-405-771, 42701-405-003)
Model Count = 8

Or, you could lace up a pair of aluminum rims from a 75-77 Gold Wing or a 76-77 750A.

My local big box dealer here shows a new stock one for $103.72 and part # 42701-425-771. Luckily I get free shipping on stock Honda parts because I can pick them up.    http://www.cyclepartsnation.com/

Stock ones are alloy. (I think?)  Rotor is looking for a steel one.

I'd defer to Buchanan's.

Don't know if your spokes will work. May need to buy a set to match.

Worth a call. They have things not on their website, and tips.

This old junker off a 77 K model sure looks like rusty steel to me. Automatics had some nice alloy wheels though.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/78-77-Honda-CB750K-rear-rim-40-spoke-rear-wheel-3-11-/270719767702?hash=item3f0827d496&item=270719767702&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr

Yeah, sure seems so. In which case those OEM part numbers should work. Cheaper than Bucky's.

Cyclepartsnation is pretty cheap for stock Honda items if like me you can pick them up free directly from them in a couple of days, only about a mile from my shop, but have read where they can really rape you on the shipping if your unfortunate enough to have to go that route.  That shipping price can be a big factor.
