Oh, then it is: better flow and less restriction is a lower pressure in my book of physics.

The one thing I have seen repeated over and over in personal reviews of this filter is that when cold the pressure comes up quicker with this filter than with paper filters due to better flow and less restriction. That is certainly a plus for lubrication.

Isn't this also accomplished when using a higher quality SYNTHETIC motor oil (since they have lower and quicker pour points than conventional oils).
If that was something I was looking for, I'd change to a diff oil, before the filter swap you suggest.

Oil pressure is a function of the oil pump design.  A restrictive oil filter will lower oil pressure, not increase it, as it is in-line before the (cleaned) oil reaches the vital engine parts.

Great, now this is become an oil thread. ::)  Time for the popcorn.  Seriously though 65Ch3v3LL3, go for it and report back.  My only comment would be that given the kind of miles put on street bikes, the 'payback' period is excessive.  That said, it would be serious consideration for a race bike were the oil is changed after every weekend.  My only misgiving would be with the pleated design, and the ability to consistently clean it.
