Planning larger "550" engine. Opinions?

I'm planning on building a larger engine using a spare 550 engine I have.
I'm thinking
- Henry Abe 600 kit (May buy tonight)
- 650 cam
- Stock 550 transmission
- Stock clutch?
- Bypass the stock oil passages with oil lines running up to the head.
I have read that it's pretty hard to come by some piston rings for the 600 kits, so my main question is would it be better to do the 750 pistons? Have them machined and all that, along with the bores.

the stock oil passages are fine,i chamfer the orifice feed in the head that mates to the barrel slightly.

Dave, what does that do? I take it you're referring to the holes on either end that feed the cam bearings/saddles?

yep the feed holes, where the o ring sits,a chamfer on the heads feed hole takes that square edge off the entry for oil under pressure,no need to do the barrels discharge hole, its the thought that counts.

Why not make it a V-8 like this man did with his 350?
