Speks on CB750 K0 Bars?
« on: May 06, 2005, 04:53:14 PM »
Just picked up a pair of bars for my bike today.  Bob sent me some pictures of some bars that have metal wraped and welded around the center.  I was thinking his might have been original, but the bars I got today + another set for sale on E-bay don't have that.

The bars I have are 31" wide, have 4.5" rise, and I think 6" or 8" pull.  they have the holes for the wires, but not reinforced in the middle.

Do these sound right?

Thanks Chris.

Chris,

I'm not sure my bike should be a benchmark for anything "original," but I looked in the parts list and the only illustration of a bar and mounting assembly does not have the center reinforcment. However, it appears this might be for a K2 (there was a changeat K2) since the illustration also has all the indicators mounted centrally on the bars and the reinforcement might have been an interference with the instrument mounting. Just guessing though.

I'm just guesing here as well.  I have an orange k0,k1 parts guide now but it's not sheding any light either.

I have a visit with an original Sandcast pending in Colorado.  The owner and I have had some trouble meeting schedules though.

When I see a finished one up close I'll have a whole mess of questions answered.

I picked up a couple of recessed ignitions off of some smaller bikes as well today.  One of them is FUBAR'ed and the other has a H instead of T key code + looks wrong.

Chris,

Sounds like a photo op. If you can, take along the digital camera and take a bunch of pics from all angles fairly close. It would be of real interest to finally see some accurate info visually, provided you were willing to share them  ;) ;)
