Honey...does this tire make garage look skinny?

The view .....the other direction in my garage.

Some mornings it's hard to go to work as I have to walk through this.

I ran Morris mags on my Jr. Pro Stocker in 81...they came off a RR bike of unknown origin but sure look a lot like this Kimtab. Judging by the price...I'm guessing they do not make these anymore...lol

You guys will make sure I do not venture off the true path...thanks.

Here is a pic of my Morris mag; looks nothing like the Kimtab.

Just based on my restoration work of '60s and '70s models........I would suspect an AKRONT rim to be readily available at that time.  HONDA had DID make up some valanced rims (some people call them pee-catchers) for race bikes but were generally hard to come by. Of course all were copies of the Borrani design.  Looks like and 18-incher..........nice anodizing.

The fork looks like a Ceriani Roadrace fork, also known as the GP fork.. the new ones are  a bit different. The blown v-8 I think had the double mount fork, that is one can be for brakes and the other for brace if needed. The Cerianis I got both are made for handlebars not clipons. but they made a top tree that was smooth fore clip-ons  as far as I know. Sometimes trees can be found seperate, they are marked ARCES, I think it is the forging company that struck them. If you get lucxky you may score a whole front end listed as such. They were used on  XR 750 and a few other bikes.

One note about them the lower leg or slider is amazingly thin, in the narrowed section, it will scare you if you measure it.. but keep in mind they carried many a double engined bike down the track, pretty sure a few of them lofted the front end, and came down less than gently..

Blueturbo, those forks have no mounts. Ceriani made forks for OEM dirtbikes as well plus a motocross fork, the one he needs is the GP or Roadrace fork in single bump..

Take a close look at the kimtab tire clearance at the brace and rim alighnment with the brace/brake mount lugs on the legs.....................then compare with the Borrani (or copy of)............Tire clearance (growth) at speed may have been an issue ............the comparison indicates it may be an 18-inch rim.

The tube length looks longer than standard...........very similar to Bultaco MX bikes of the era.........the top tree has nearly flat handlebar mounts..........possibly the U-type..........again, maybe modified from a Bultaco.

Just supposing but trying not to overlook the obvious...........

Blue............sorry I missed your earlier post............I skipped to the next with the ebay references.

Anyhow.........the point is............take a close look at the WINSTON bike and try to detail each component.  Since we all have a CB750 head in the garage from which to measure the distance fromt the top fin to the bottom head fin.............it should be relatively close to measure many of the other components in the picture.

Blueturbo the first set is MX legs, second set is double bump, he needs single.. If his trees are flat on the top one they may be in MX trees,

New GP legs  are 1000Euros  :o :oI think, no trees..  complete pair of leg assemblies..

These are definitely top mount bars..very flat /low rise on 35mm tubes ...i Think maybe like some dirt bike stuff. They have mounts for a fender / brace as can be seen in the pic.

I'll be looking through all your sources...I'll need those calipers as well..I think Airheart pieces? I'm guessing the rotors are stock Honda with the RC copper plate ...so popular of the era.

I remember going over to Earls Supply and a having our run of the place..bike in back...what do you need Russ? Great people. All the plumbing for all of or projects done right there in the back room on Hawthorne Blvd.

The Sorcerer uses 1976 GL forks with a home made brace and clamps. Talk about cheap to restore!

You found them...it's the flat track forks. I'm gonna have to move quickly..but these are definitely them. Pretty pricey for no trees...but that may be the going rate. I'd sure like to get the whole set up but maybe too much to ask.

Thanks....great shoppers...glad you do not have my CC#

I cant figure out the front rotors, some of the wheels back then  were flattrack hubs like Barnes and others.. Did Sandy Kosman build anything for them bikes??..may have come from him?
You can trim off the 2nd mount but it would be a shame, there is less of them. Themx fork tubes (not lowers ) are probably longer than the roadrace type, and might be interchanged...
