Quite a few Triumphs were converted to 35mm Ceriani forks.........and a few BSAs...........along with others..........Penton is also a good source for Ceriani 35mm front ends with trees............

Starting to do some math....with all new I could be looking at close to $3K....if ....I can find the clamps. You know what's funny... we must of just had these laying around because we tended to use stock or modified stock for these items.

I have bookmarked all of your work and really appreciate the effort.

Those sites you guys patched in are helping me see the light on this front end..and I think someone is right on the anodized spoke rim..I was dimensioning off the Kimtab for the 19" ....I'll bet the Borrani look alike is 18". I still have to ID the rotors and hub.

Moving back and forth between these two pics had me going.

I assume everyone agrees...the Winston version is the right way to go?

The clutch guard alone is enough reason to go with the Winston version! Also, you're not going to hear me complain if you decide to "modernize" some bits here or there, for safety, parts availability, etc. For me, it's all about seeing the motors work together in screaming unison!

I would bet money that the fork brace is Circle Industries, should be some kicking around,.

JR got access to a mill ? set of Ceriani Flat trees on ebay cheap but they are 32mm, just bore em out, fairly easy to do. Maybe ask your dad where he thinks the stuff came from, .. I take it the forks andwheels got pretzeled in the crash?? Did all the motors survive OK, that would be amazing considering how bad we broke a swet of cases at only half that speed..

Douyou know what the frame neck used for bearings, they may have used one inch tapered.. often used on frames (H-D style)

Fork brace probably circle...I remember that spoken...in the day.

The bike went end over end so violently ..it broke off the front and rear of the chassis...and I now own the worlds first set of 7 second engines...really the engine plate idea was pretty good for having to re-chassis..glad he did that.

I have access to a complete shop that builds land speed from scratch...they are sponsoring the frame...but the bits and pieces are on me. That's on the Triple. I'm also in Aerospace..so we have a few machines...like a building full of Haas....Saturday anyone?

You would not believe what good shape the motor pod is in. All 3 motor plates straight with one that might need work....all 3 ARD's unscratched, Crowerglide and Lenco all still bolted in all belts, pulleys, pumps hooked up and in place. Hilborns, most fuel lines and rails in place. Remember, it was going about 175 when it came to a halt so in my head that means a runner!

My Dad thought I was joking when I suggested a rebuild...by the 8th hole he was talking about the missing starter and how it would probably run on gas as it sits....lol

The Sorcerer engine rebuild is also a fairly complete machine shop, Racer's Machine also a sponsor once I have the bits. Pistons on the way. This project needs help from Mallory and I just got the pictures together to speak with them to reproduce the special 8 spark , vortex style, VW drive piece...very special...I think. Certainly not in their catalog!

OBTW... he promised to check in here soon. I have been sending him your kind words and he is humbled and appreciative that he may get just sit on the triple again...and he knows damn well the I'll be riding the Sorcerer ASAP.

Another tidbit...I have a brother, David , 1 yr younger who is a rider...not at this level (#$%* who is?) and I will let him use my Pro Streeter to license, get a little DRace experience etc. if we are going to run these side by side it might as well the Collins Brothers. I need to put a 2 step on my Pstreet and lighten up the clutch and he will easily run mid nines for the license...current set up is a wheelie monster and runs low 8's no bar. Don't want to cut short his DR career!

Not sure if there is much info online about the crash, what I remember reading about it was probably in BIG BIKE it reported him getting out of shape around 175 or 180mph, and it bouncing at least 3 times.. one of them reported to be as high as 75 feet

Dont know what RC saw when it happened but it must have been frightening...

Sorcerer.........No good news...........but a little help.....maybe............from the guy who figured on the 18-inch wheel...........I had a set of polished and rebuilt Ceriani GP forks in my hands today.........but they belong to a friend and are going on his 250 Ducati. The tubes came in 2 lengths.... about 22 inches and 24 inches. I am guessing that the tubes on the ATSF were extended, so the next best thing would be to source tubes from an OFF-Road set.

The help is a suggestion that you go ahead with the build using the best fork you can find...........the correct one will come to you someday.

top view all injectors and most lines in place..no damage except to oil tank

Mag side...again...miraculously no damage

Full drive side shot ..no damage...how that clutch escaped harm as well as the mags on the other side is beyond me.

rear view all the expensive stuff still in place

And one again the starter plate un harmed just missing the engagement ratchet...which was just unbolted for some other project...again how did something sticking out in the wind come away flawless.

Soooo.... you see why I think I have a runner.

I'll be in touch with John Stein on some tips for restore (if you do not already have his book, get it)...he did a great job on TV's double which was built at the same time...only feet away...you had to be there. I just knew that we were going to move Dbike racing about ten yrs into the future..almost surrealistic, dominant, over the top engineering going on in that room. My Dad thought big and out of the box and Byron could build it. Those car parts adaptation were an RC trademark. My dad was in constant communication with all the car heavies of the time and I fortunate enough to have had many a lunch to hear history in the making

This is the correct front end. I compared these to the picture on page 7 and they are exactly alike !
Now i just need to find who's bidding on them and kidnap them till the auction is over ! WOOOHA HA !

They look like the ones mate, i thought the early ones didn't have the flair on the bottom {mine don't} but after looking at the RC bike again, i think you are right on the money....

Retro, i keep zooming in on the picture on page 7 and the bottom of the fork leg has a step to where it is a larger diameter but it's hard to tell if it has the slight taper as on the ebay forks. Man it's awfully close. I think it's as good as it's gonna get. Hell who's really gonna know or care except for JR himself. It's his final decision anyway.

Man these forks are really expensive aren't they ?
