Is there any footage of The Assassin, A,T&SF or The Sorcerer on the strip?

Russ, Is this your Dad mate?

No footage of Assassin...before VCR's and the like, None I"ve seen of the Triple but I'll bet there are some home movies out there...I'd love to get copy of. The Sorcerer was featured in a movie "Take it to the Limit" by Peter Starr....very cool stuff....

And finally, yes that is my Dad driving for Bill Miller...although this is not his favorite footage...lol. but I do love how collected my Dad was after jumping out of that seat...he knew I was at the starting line and I think he wanted everyone to see he was OK. I was thinking "Last Rights" from where I was standing. That was a very long 20 seconds!

They are good friends and my Dad drove that car for approx 5+ yrs I believe. Fastest Chevy on the planet! (Arias Motored)

Hell....if that's what the banner is worth ..what do you think the running version of the Sorcerer would bring?....and no it's not for sale.

Yes, that would be a great idea for RC jr.  For a reasonable price to help fund the operation of the dragbikes.   ;)    IDEA !   How about having  RC SENIOR  and RC jr  autograph them for a little bit more $$$  !
     OH YEA !!   ;)   8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
With today's technology an updated picture or pictures would be great.  Left side- RC jr standing with arms crossed.  Right side-  new picture of motorcycle.  I can see it now ......hanging in the bedroom.   :o 8)  If the ole lady will let me !  LOL !    OH ! OH !   How about some 8x 10 glossy pictures autographed !
    Say...$ 25.oo  ?   I'd be 1st in line !!    ;)     OOOOOH !   SHIRTS !!!!  GOTTA HAVE SHIRTS !!!!!   :o :o  8)

When I showed that footage to my wife (who thinks that race cars and bikes in general are just "Boys stuff") she said "Gee, look how calm that man is"
That was a highlight for her.  :)

70 4spd SS396 numbers car I have been working on for 7 years to get it to be a show winner, 10 trophy's later and it does not look as exciting as a ride on fuel bike ...does it?

Although, rowing through the gears with 450hp big block on the back roads has it's  upside.

This is what's on the block if I cannot pull in some sponsor assistance.....just bought a house...got a few too many toys and then my Dad gives me these old race bikes to restore all in the same month.

I've got Killer marketing help...but in these times no telling what will shake out. So this car is my ace in the hole...probably could get both bikes done.

Sell it at BARRET JACKSON auctions in Scottsdale.  I believe it's next month.   I think you'll regret it though.
I restored a 1971 SS454 El Camino and sold it at route 66 here in San Bernardino where i live.  I regret it every day.   :(

This is at Norton AFB in San Bernardino when we could dragrace on a portion of the air strip. Fun times.  :)

Yep ..I'm sure right...it will be a last resort.

We have a very nice Cruise Night in Escondido just miles from home and I have not missed a Friday night in years. It runs for 6 months during daylight savings. We also have Nitro night at the same venue and what would be more cool than a running Sorcerer. All the 60's and 70's drag cars show up....you should see the stuff the Snake shows up with.....his shop is nearby.

Like those colors on your camino

one of the times we rode our 750s to California we stopped by the RC shop, went around the corner to the back alley, the door of the shop (behind RC ENG)was open..they were loading headers into a van.. most of what we could see inside the shop was all pipes.. hundreds of them.. :o.. always remembered that...

I'm honored that some of you feel this worthy of passing the hat...but I just need to suck it up and lighten up on the toys perhaps.

Just after the holidays.... we will be putting together some marketing plans that will be aimed at the big money advertising. You know the players...energy drinks,  etc...

Do all of you have this illness?

I call this my wall of flame.

This poorly taken photo is of a poster from a German Magazine...guy flew in from over there and we had only run the bike in the back alley...1st professional shot mt Dad hated it (cuz the bike wasn't ready etc...) so i got it
right out of the magazine when it hit his desk. I'm sure I have the only one framed like a Picasso..if there are any left at all.

And as promised some recently cleaned up Sorcerer parts...hey it's a start!

18 yrs old and in the Navy...didn't see him for months..he was a wreck. Stainless fingers and teflon knuckles just to mention a few of the new parts installed. He was drawing up some plans for the Sorcerer at the dining room table with the one good hand...couldn't even give him a hug he was so bad. He still feels the effects of that crash but seldom mentions it...sure didn't stop him from more TF bike and car racing!

And yes we built a lot of pipes... UPS was backing up Semi's at the peak.

RCjr.

Thanks for letting us be a part of the rebuilds of these bikes.  I have seen them in my dads magazines for as long as I can remember.  He built an RC 1000cc motor back in about 1974 that he street raced back in the day and have heard his stories about how good that thing ran.  Would love to see them make it to Sturgis Ralley so my dad and I could see them in person, all we get are the nitro Harleys.

I really can't imagine being there during the heyday. I really dug the russ Collins story after I stumbled across it in the hi-pi archives. I actually had his picture as my avatar before I read about him, I liked the look on his face , really inspiring. It's actually my work computer background where I do most of my fourm reading  ;D 8).

Hi Russ and a very warm welcome to the forum. Illness? Motorcycling in all its forms is a disease, probably a notifiable one at that. However, I'm pleased to say there is no known cure.
There are some great pictures here and like all the other members of this particular forum I shall be watching the restoration of your dad's bikes with great interest.
Cheers

Was wonder how the triple engine was phase together. Does cylinder 1 on all three engines fire at the same time or are the cranks phased at 120 deg apart? Do they use a common oil system?

Phased cylinder firing and a common dry sump oiling system....really the only way to go with nitro.
