This is a link to an auction that ended in Oct last year.
The seller has stated that he has several sets of legs and trees that he will be listing at some point.

I'm wondering if it worth pursuing him to see what he has or if he could steer you in the right direction to somebody else that may be able to help out.

I don't know if these are what is required but it could turn into a lead.

I talked to Rick Stetson about this today. Most of you fellas do not know Rick but he had the quickest and fastest NA CB in the day. He also built and tuned Gary Clark's funny bike to 4 World Championships. Sam has meet him numerous times. Anyway....when I told him about this today he just looked at the the ground for a second, shook his head, smiled, and said...."I'd go see that that run again". He saw the Sorcerer but just missed the 3 engine bike. He saw Russ in a wheelchair at Bowling Green right after that crack up in Ohio (I think that is where it was)
It was neat to see Rick actually interested in this. He has been to every event in the USA many times but he was sincere in wanting to see this bike run.
As a side note.....when he used to go to the West Coast to run in the 70's Russ let him use a corner of the shop to work on his bike. Byron took him into the "secret room" several times. He was there when they were making the "Conehead Mikuni''s. He told me that BEFORE Russ Jr even talked about that "secret room". Funny.

Blue...you should have been there when Rick was talking a bike he was helping out with that was running Alcohol, a turbo with about 60lbs and nitrous (to help get it off the line before the turbo spooled up). I was laughing my a$$ off talking about cylinder pressures. Anyway they bent a rod (a Kawasaki roller engine with GS rods), had about 75% leak on 1 cylinder but went out again and still ran a low 8.

I saw the rod.....the small end was bent over like a dead rose.

Russ are those trees I mentioned 10 days back still available. the only snag I could see with them was if the width was off.

Try Wolfgang at Columbia Car & Cycle in Nakusp B.C... he may have something.. (search Laverda Nakusp). He has excellent connections in Italy.. I got my forks from him. he may have trees kicking around and he is reasonable with prices. Hew may know the guys that make the new ones, and could pull some strings.
I may be able to make or loan a tree if that isa all you are missing.. These forks should be around on vintage flatttrackers, if a collecter has a lot of them they may have parts.. I think you should get something for no more than a G-note..

Rick Stetson is impressive cowboy, He's also very quiet and quietly spoken, a very un-assuming person.
On top of all that, he is a fantastic engineer, tuner, drag and land speed racer.
He is a member of the ECTA 200mph club.

Well,we knew it wasn't going to be good when he and machine became separate(when people ask how do you know when you're going to crash,that's my std. answer!)I believe he crossed the line @ 170+,not sure about Triple,I'm guessing high speed wobble(severe tank slapper),we'll see what young Russ says. My Dad thinks the choice to run an 8" tire made the bike less stable than it should have been. Of course a 10" was considered over the top back in 73.

The track had a good lane and a not so good lane in the traps. My Dad was running the same lane all day in a match race series with TC's Hogslayer.

Last round for the deciding win...my dad gave TC lane choice and they switched lanes. Apparently the triple fit perfectly into a dip in the traps and then it went airborne, tank slappers, end over end.

I was not there..thank God.

Today the triple was moved from under my bench and down to MDR and is already setup on a 10' long 2Klb frame table that has built many drag and streamliner chassis. It was a beautiful site and pics will follow by tomorrow.

I'm going to make some calls in regard to the front end tomorrow..must have.

Amazing read so far. Cant believe that i missed this thread!

Its wonderful that these iconic bikes will be restored and more importantly used.
Im waiting on my taxes to come in, then some $$ will be heading out to help the project, the idea of helping and even being able to get a signed poster is more then worth it
