There are choices and then there is the right choice.

I bent 16 valves....not running Jay's cam chain...bad choice.

It was on this one that Randy Nelson built for me back in 93...then we picked up NX as a nitrous sponsor and I forgot to go with the good cam chain...that extra 100hp was fun for about 6 runs. Sixty foot times at 1.16 and would carry the wheel through the traps at 170+....fast back then.

cool Suzi, has a mitchell PM lightened wheel on the front.. they are fairly light a buddy has one on his Bonneville bike.
Do you know what cams you will run in the triple and the V8 ?, I was surprised that one of them ran a 315, thought it would be hotter than that...

Thanks....loved the chassis on this (all MDR) and PM was helping out also...PM everything...ultra light for sure. I did some consulting at PM, teaching Statistical Process Control to the machine programmers back then and traded for parts.

I won't be second guessing my Dad's tune up so I'll stick with the 315's on the double and I have no idea what the triple is running....obviously bigger, being NA motors. My Dad said the triple motors were pretty well maxed out in flow , compression, timing etc...running 90% as well. I'll be backing those down a bit for exhibition but the Sorcerer will be pretty close to race set up...it was very reliable....same cranks for over a decade, just burned some pistons in the beginning. I Have some blower pulley choices to consider...really do not want to kick a rod out so I'll be conservative (funny word for the Sorcerer).

Are the triple engines being rebuilt?  You could auction the old pistons off to raise some more funds,  that would be a pretty cool mantel/conversation piece!!  Are you going to document these bike builds in a book or a video of some sort?

Yeah you could get some serious bux for some grenaded engine parts if they came with COA.. Certificate of Authenticity

There is a local hi-tech firm here I built some small machined parts for , he built a hardness tester for apples.. with SPC.. no sh!t !!

JR did you see the Ascot Renion thread in open? bet you had to have been there a few times..

There was a member on here a year or two back, his wifes father worked at RC Eng, back in the day be damned if I can remeber who that was,,, ??? ???  I remember asking him to try to find out if RC used torque plates, when boring the big 750 bigbore barrels..

I believe  they did use torque plates....

My Dad was well connected with the high end car guys in LA and he employed all of the best technology that was available and designed and built what was not available, including a home made dyno that used a very large ...I think, meat scale..strange but true.

He is still building flow benches for fuel injection studies and sells them to to the OEM's Engineering types.....If you want to measure it ..he can build it. He doesn't use meat scales anymore...he is a computer nerd!

On the rebuild question.....All the motors will be rebuilt as needed to be very reliable. We will be making paid appearances and reliability will take front burner over outright performance. We won't be setting records but we can sure put on a heck of good show.

C.R. Axtell I think had a dyno in the early 70s that had a huge circular dial on it,  I remember it from the old Peterson M/C quarterly or yearly books.. all the techs had flat-top haircuts and probably had a Triumph or matchless desert sled ...lol..and all their shiny metal toys were kept in a toolboxes, not ...
dangling out of their ears and noses...

Just in case the tubes you find are pitted...........I have a local Milwaukee machine and hydraulics shop that can cylinder-grind the tubes and hard-chrome the surfaces back to stock 35mm.  The original hard-chrome was about .001 - the reconditioned Ceriani tubes now have .020 of perfect hard-chrome. The're going on my freind's A65 Road Racer.  Not cheap.......but affordable.

Hey !  Photo #63 has a Ceriani front end in it !!  It's on the right side of the photo !    :o

Found the forks....now I just need a "sick day" to go pick them up. Of course I'll believe it when I have them in my truck...but apparently someone has been collecting these...a lot of these to be exact. I might even have two sources...both in LA.

OBTW...that dirt tracker with the forks we need, sold for a song...just a few hundred over the value of the front end...sort of like a scene from Antiques Road Show!

You guys have been awesome on the shopping...and I have bookmarked all the links. I just have to stay off those sites until these fuelers are done....their like candy stores...especially the dirt track stuff. I spent many  nights at Ascot with my Dad and would love to have one of those bikes in the stable...but I have remained married for 30yrs and do not not want to alter that status.

Randy at MDR has placed the order for the chrome molly tubing for the chassis....he is on a mission!  :)
