Met with my machinist (who will remain anonymous as per his wishes) yesterday. Plan is set to start with fresh cases and CNC them as well as the backing plate. The logistics are good and we should achieve excellent oil control with just a bead of 1192 rather than 8 lbs of clear RTV. ::) ;D ;D
Unfortunately the original cases are just to beat up to use and Russ Jr understands the situation. The cases would leak and I hate leaks.
Funny thing is the restored bike will be "better" in so many ways and I think Russ's dad would be OK with that. ;)

Planned charter trip with flight(s), transfer, hotel, and ticket to the race?
+ A closer look too with a SOHC ticket would be fine.. :-)
T-shirt and cap with text like I was there and saw the resurrection of the monster from the 70's....

A few weeks ago I was driving across our great-plains states including Kansas. The thought occurred..........how many of us have actually been to Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe? I have but no all on the same trip.

I think that Mike Rieck got the engines for assembly.  New cases was mentioned.
-Mike might have news about the status?
It would be fantastic to see and hear when the bike will run on the strip. That will be a must see well worth a transatlantic + transUSA trip, right?

A friend had 750 cases cut for a mini sprint a few years ago. Apparently there are still guys that know how to do it. He had a Hilborn FI, cam drive pump, big ported head, cam, etc and sold it for cents on the dollar. Waah. If I had only known.

Cases are still in process. Machinist is very busy with proprietary work but we met the other day and the logistics are figured out. Russ Jr will be coming up later this month and we'll all get together
