I am unable to view or download these first 2.

I’ve had a bit of trouble uploading images in the last hour or so.  Had to try a few times.

I deleted them and tried again.  It opens when I try it anyway...  let me know if it doesn’t come through for you this time.

Sorry, I’m only a nerd in the sense of interest, not technical digital skills.

I was referring to the last double the sort of V8, I think Russ is restoring it.
 Maybe I only dreamt that.

You are referring to the Sorcerer?  Yes, that one is currently receiving some attention as well.

Are those "long" cranks modified or brand-new special parts?

Happy New Year Mike, (our very much stalled CB750 project is still alive BTW)!

What is the engineering process to elongate the crank like that?

A piece of steel round stock is cut to length and bored for a large, long Allen head bolt. A channel is cut into it for for a Woodruff type key to hold a pulley for the toothed belt. Pulley also uses set screws (to lock in)  once the pulley is lined up with the receiving pulley The original crank snout is cut down and..I imagine ....some of the snout is left for the bolt to screw into and to stabilize/center the extension. The extension end which butts against the crank would have to be machined for this. The bolt is tightened, the extension trued and the bolt head is welded to the end of the extension.
I do not know if this is the exact process but it is the best I can think of after looking at the cranks.

Hi Mike and a HNY to all.

After looking at some of the pictures that have been posted, it looks like you have a nice collection of parts there but have you any idea of when they might resemble CB750 motors again ?

Can I assume there will be a bearing to support the outside end of the crank extension?

I was thinking someone said RC327 cams once.

Sorry for the late reply Sam. Yes....Zint balanced the auto crank. You met him when we had  that little party for you at my house. Zint is now chilling in Hawaii with a high school sweetheart he met at his 50th high school reunion if you can believe that.
