Topic: What carbs am I looking for exactly?

S I have been trying to do some research on what carbs originally came on my 73 750k. I'm going to pick up a set this winter as a project until the snow melts. I know nothg about carbs so it will be a good learning experience. I found a list of casting numbers for all Honda carbs and under cb750 69-76 it lists Five different options. I have been trying to find the answer on my own with no luck. What am I looking for exactly and what years are interchangeable? Thanks for the help...

Most likely the original carbs were 657A's.

Other than the jetting and some very minor external differences the 7A, 657A, and 657B's are essentially identical.

AFAIK, the 657B's were (mostly) used in late '74-'75 and the 086A's were used in late '75 thru '76. 

They are all pretty much interchangeable, it's the jetting that makes the difference.
