Been really busy in the shop with customer vehicles, family stuff and misc things.

I go to the Gilmore show every year & every year I tell myself, I'm going to enter "next year". Its finally going to happen. Here's a few pics of some of the work.

Didn't like the way the sump cover looked

Ended up polishing it

I had the bike running earlier this year, but never got a chance to sync the carbs (also finished up the stock gauges)

Bike runs strong. Need to clean it up and get ready for the show. Can't wait

I bought this bike a while ago from a friend, and it sat in the corner of the barn for years. After I retired a couple of years ago; I decide to restore it. I finished it late this fall. If this post is in the wrong spot; please move as needed - Thanks, Ray

Wow, yeah, I see. You did go all the way! Great photos!
I cheated, I didn't rebuild my engine and I kept the Kerker 4-1 that came on mine.

Nice Job K5,your bike looks better than new. How many miles does it have on it.? Can you post up some before pics of the whole machine,those are always fun to see.Is it a bike you had for a long time or a machine type you always wanted to own?
I see your listed as in Southwestern, Mi. Myself and a couple other members here are out of Kalamazoo.Ever get into town give me a shout and come on over to my shop,got a building full of 750's that could use your magic----

1975 used a color called Flake Apricot Red and of course the other was the Planet Blue.

Thanks all, appreciate the comments. I've had the bike long enough to say digital cameras weren't around. I do have some shots of the original pieces & will post them. The tank & side covers were painted the same original color (Flake Apricot Red). Just completed the work recently so next spring will be the initial start/break-in and ride - can't wait!

Very nice. Where have you been? I see you just joined the forum in December. Glad to have you on board. Awesome job on the bike. All aspects of the paint look really nice. Did you do the engine and tank paint yourself? Have you given the motor a start up yet? It looks so nice and "oil free."

Agreed...I would want to fire it up. All winter I would be wondering if she will start and ride. Supposed to be in the low 40's here is WI this weekend. Bring it over here and we can take a ride...

You have real patience my friend. I plan to get a bike out this weekend before the Packer game. Need my fix I guess....

All my friends say the same thing... "fire that thing up!" So, I have given it some thought, but I'll be joining fellow VJMC members in Novi, Michigan (International Show) in January and they require no fuel or battery before the bikes come inside. Rest assured the bike will run before spring. Thanks for your interest & comments.

I live in Mid Michigan I have the same bike as you same paint I have the orginal engine I want to have restored and put back on the frame. I am the second owner of the bike bought it in1981. I would like a complete engine and trans rebuild. Who did yours are they available? Your bike is beatiful I am jealous makes me wish I was 18 again. Maybe we could ride together if I could get mine running. It looks great just doesnt run. I have tried to have it worked on only to come out worse in the end Please help. If you can do it or if you have a good mechanic.

Hi "Wayne", we might have met at the Novi show in January?

Craig at Precision Motorcycle Painting did the tank & covers. He's not cheap, but is one of the best. He'll clean & seal you tank also. Here's his link http://www.precisionmotorcyclepainting.com/

I rebuilt the engine/transmission & did the rest of the work. I'm currently restoring a 1966 HD FLH for a customer. This will be my last customer project. I retired and promised myself I'd only work on my bikes and buy bikes to restore & sell at some point. This is a great forum for DIY projects. I would highly recommend it. There's plenty of experience and help as you venture into the work. The pride of owning something you've worked on will last a lifetime.

Ray...have you got some pics of the Novi, MI show to share with us?

Wayne...what seems to be the problem with your bike? Sometimes it is not as bad as it seems. Give us the scoop. Some basics like does it turn over, how long since it ran, etc. We like pics too. You may want to start your own thread about your bike and the problems so we do not high-jack Rays thread here. Welcome to the forum Wayne.
