cb750 clutch and primary shaft differences
« on: December 13, 2011, 09:47:27 AM »
i know the differences in the clutches themselves.the F and K, the basket changes, etc.  what are the differences in the shafts?  can you put an F basket on a K shaft, vice versa?

I have: the shafts don't appear to be significantly different but for one thing: check the oil holes where the shaft lubes the inner gear bushings. On the F1 and later bikes, some of these holes were eliminated. You can simply drill a new one in the later shaft if it is missing, but make sure it lines up with the bushing hole when you do. The countershaft also is like this. For this reason, they got different part numbers.

The final drive shaft is a whole 'nuther story, though.
See SOHC4shop.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.
