CB750 "budget" cafe build
« on: December 13, 2011, 11:27:57 AM »
Well, here's my first attempt at a cafe build. Its a 72 CB750. It started in my dad's garage, moved to my 4th floor apartment, and finally to my mom's garage. I really like Wrench Monkees builds, but I don't have the fabrication skills or money they do so I just worked with what I have. Well here's some pics of the build and where I'm at now.

In my apartment, after putting the engine in, and installing the '78 supersport front end.

I had to use a ball pen hammer to dent the oil tank, so it would clear the banjo bolt and the rear m/c.

I'm using RC51 rear sets, but I Couldn't get the linkage to work, so I made the stock shifter work.

and here's where I am now.

7? supersport tank, dohc disc brake swing arm, 900f shocks, silver comstars (i really don't car for spokes), 74 cb750 tach center solo mounted, and some ebay clip ons. The seat started life as one of Crapy's dunstall style seat, but i hacked away at it until I got it to this point. That's all I can think of right now. Can't wait to get this thing done!

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

Ehh, 1 up 4 down. It's the only bike I have, so I don't have to worry to much about getting mixed up.
