gday L3,welcome,,your noise might be the rocker shafts worn in the cover?where the rocker shafts ride they wear the actual cover in an oval,to check the wear youll have to back the tappets right off, then with those end caps removed you can screw a 6mm bolt into that thread designed for pulling the shafts out with,,dont pull on the shafts but try and wiggle them up and down and round and round and see what you find, youl have to rotate the engine at some point as even with the tappets backed off one or two will ride on the valve and not let enough slack to wobble those shafts.

I'm thinking he probably did that when he did the "Valve job" on it.... ;)

Synch the carbies. If they're off....you will get that noise big time as the cylinders are fighting each other.

Alright guy thanks for the support now im back in action..
so i saw my forks thous are total goners but the triple tree is still good..

so i was thinking of putting a inverted system on the bike a friend told me about this brand Hyosung pretty inexpensive .. but im guessing i will need a new break system and something to hold the light and wheel i dont know if it fits or if it fits in the triple tree... you know i dont wanna buy them and don't FIT

well my question is is that a good idea?
right now Don't Have the stock cb 500 i believe i have a suzuki GS 80's i believe is dual disk its ok ..

what do you guys recommend ? for the Forks

go to stock ? inverted ? back to the Suzuki ones ?

well the headers are bend also they touch the frame i dont know if it would be fine to run it like that if i had to ?

I would replace with stock so you know it will fit/work.  The front end off a 550 may also work.

Have you looked in the forcsale section of this forum?

Check the down tubes on the frame to see if they are bent, changing the headstock angle on the frame.
I know you don't want to think the frame is bent.  But it seems unlikely that the forks, would absorb ALL the distortion damage in a crash this bad.

L3niin: From your pictures it's obvious the front end took a hard direct hit and because of that I would pull the steering stem (triple tree) and check it closely. I've seen many bent at the lower bearing area. Also check the lower bearing area of the frame for any distortion. Glad to hear that you're ok and good luck.
