wireless intercom-
« on: December 16, 2011, 01:14:11 AM »
I'm looking for a stand alone wirreless passenger to driver and bike to bike unit with say a 500 foot range. I desire voice activated to fit into two full faced helmits. It needs to be basically hassel free when taking the helmit on and off one's head and have clear communication properties. The 2 bikes have 4 into ones' on SOHC 750s and need to work at highway and in town velocities. There are many to choose from on the net but which actually deliver is beyond my experience.

thanks guys,

My wife and I really enjoy the Chatterbox XBi2.

My observations after having this for two years:

-They are not cheap but the range is great, the sound is good on both the interstate and around town.  We both ride with full face helmets.  She has a windscreen on her CB750.  I do not have the windscreen and she hears me just fine.

-We have gotten well out of site of each other and have not had an issue communicating with this.

-The battery life is good

-We can both listen to my ipod at the same time and the batteries hold up well.  When you want to talk, the music is switched off automatically.

-No cords hanging all over the place.

-After nearly two years of daily riding, the headset cord chaffed on the helmet and I had to solder / heat shrink them back together.  This is the only problem I have had with the units.

Hope this is what you were looking for.
