Today went fairly smoothly getting some paint down on the frame and bits and pieces.  Only a couple minor mishaps with a run on an ear and some left over candy orange got on my silver frame.  I't just a few specks so I'll probably let it be.

I am going for a silver and orange flake theme with the frame, swingarm, battery box, tool tray all silver, and the rest of the bits and pieces candy orange.

In the future I will break this type of job into 2 or 3 days.  Also, got to find a better way to paint the small bits and pieces.  I don't like how the parts move when attached to a wire.

Thanks Guys!  Yeah I got's a little candy going.  Little too much on the one fork ear.  O well.  Next time I will do a little bit each day and not try and cram.  I now understand why powder coaters want so much to do this in powder, it's tough.  I stringed everything up on a half dozen strings, but really they should all be individual to avoid drips.

If anyone knows of good fine line tape speak up as I will need to tape up that silver tank before shooting orange over it.  All in all I got to be happy considering before this summer I have never painted in my life.

That is a bummer, they are expensive. Can it be welded?

Not sure 3/4 cracked.  Got a name of a local welder not sure if he is good, but was recommended by a welding supply company.  Makes me wish I had a mig with argon.

Tig would be best on that triple clamp.
It would need to be v'eed out on the inside and outside. The inside would need to be cleaned up on a mill.  A lot of work.

Thanks Lucky!  I see a Miller 200 TIG in my area for a grand http://syracuse.craigslist.org/tls/3190967735.html.  Not going to get it, but might work ok if I had extra cash laying around.

Nice work. Checked out the youtube vid too.

What about stringing the little parts up with dental floss. Fairly strong and small.
and I see you installed a Gordon Frame Kit too?

Keep it up!

Love the frame kit!  I didn't want to mess it up so I had a pro tig it in.  Dental floss is worth a try.  Just hung a drying rack.  Thinking of doing a piece they putting it on the rack.  A small toaster oven and powder might be a better option?
