Cycle x twin carbs hit frame
« on: December 19, 2011, 02:49:09 PM »
G'day
Just got the twin carb set up from Cycle X the other day for the Rickman I'm slowly putting together.
The carby hit the frame and will not fit with the rubber tube supplied.
Looking at the picture on their web site it seems to be a different tube from carby to manifold than the one supplied to me.
The question is can I change the shape of the tube ( put more of a bent tube in) joining carby to manifold or will this muck some mixing of the fuel/air up.
If I can put a tube with a greater bend in it the carbies will miss the frame and hang out the side a bit
Thanks for you thoughts
Scott

I would talk to Cycle X and make sure you got the correct boots.  I would think that bending the boots, even if you could make them work, could lead to failure down the road.

Hi Scott, Considering the fact that its a Rickman, which was a performance model, putting bends in the manifold isn't ideal {for performance}. Sell those carbs locally {for a profit} and put some CR's or RS mikuni's on it. None of CycleX's twin carb set ups fit the stock style frame unfortunately...
