This was the purple people eater- was a fun bike ,1975 year.  Toured around quite a bit on it and eventually sold it . Thing I recall not quite diggin' was the carb air box. That thing was a nightmare to get on and off. Some old fellas from Georgia bought it , particularly for the  mint original exhaust-

had absolutely nothing to do with the paint on this one . Got it from some black dude that looked like Darius Rucker from Hootie and the Blowfish in Travelers Rest ,SC- Nicest guy you'd ever wanna meet.  I always felt like Singing purple rain on this bike !?! :o

Not sure on pricing yet but cheaper than the pros for sure.  My little bro was on a Cutter at Atlantic Beach for a while but he now lives in Lorton VA close to DC. He was a engine mechanic not sure now though , have to ask .

my 2 cents - I dig it.   I'm also a design guy that somehow ended up running a sign shop...

About all I'd do is add a factory (chrome) gas tank lid. and maybe just paint the side covers black.  I don't think you need any checkers or any other graphics
on the bike.  As it sits, it is very clean and tasteful.   Almost like a factory Honda.

I especially like the round Honda emblem on the rear portion of the tank - not really where you think it would go, but it really works well.

Take the side cover off the oil tank side and stare at it for a hour or so with a few beers to give you an idea of what it would be like if it were painted black.

This is just me - but I think if you paint the rim, you should consider polishing the flanges of the hub instead of painting it.   Also - I think that silver spokes work much better than black (just my 2 cents)   you can get spokes for about 75 bucks on ebay.

As for the fender, I like the factory chrome.  Maybe you could add a thin black and orange (to match) around the perimeter of the fender ??
Ties it together, yet leaves the factory look at first glance.

Thanks Green Jeans- yeah I spent about an hour drafting some new ideas and really I am going for a less is more here. If you look at the Rickmans' they are pretty solid looking bikes with a little bit of black decal . Also this Ducati is somewhat similar to the feel I like- It's pretty simple yet elegant and embodies the 70's well. I did come up with some trick side cover designs though as well as an alternate tank and cowl scheme-

I like the color  ;)

The side covers need a little something, maybe add a continuation of the stripes/logo?

(click for a larger image)

On the side cover if you use a stripe I would put it 80% of the way op from the bottom.
Just putting it across the center seems a little clumsy. Too obvious.
