Naively I announced the end of my CR750 build in June 2009 -
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=53094.0Then I started having issues with the ignition, I didn't like the fuel lines, the rear brake bracket, the oil cooler brackets, electrics harness, hose fittings....the list goes on. A while back I bought a Dyna 2000 from Mike Rieck who has been incredibly helpful and then began the fitting, the re-wiring etc. In March this year I found the Dyna was half dead even though brand new so back to Dyna it went for repair/replacement which they did very professionally.
In the interim I realised if I was going to get anywhere I had to star the bike on my own so I wasn't relying on the Missus to help with the two man petrol remote starter so set about building a MotoGP style battery powered starter I can run myself off a foot pedal. All of those things accomplished, fresh petrol in yesterday and it was the same old story....bup -bup-bup-bup and that was all. I tried again...and it fired into life! It sounds much cleaner and crisper with the Dyna ignition. There is no real idle as the old Keihin CRs just don't seem to let it but it's running. It revs like nothing else - lightened system inside and it spins up to 10,000 with almost no effort.
Oh yeah, it's an AVI file so you may need RealPlayer or something similar to view but.....
....finally!
