The cost of traction compound is starting to be felt at the drag strips. On a track with turns it would be scary sticky and not something you would want to start. I did see a new stock car surface was dragged with drag strip equipment. They use old slicks and drag them on the track to lay down some rubber.
I believe it is tree resin (sap) dissolved in methanol or acetone. It will take your shoes off.
The best burnout I ever did was my front engine small block car, high gear and on the red line it moved out of the water box, hit the sticky spot and you could hear the tires rip into the pavement, I was 60' out there before I knew it. My gut was still back in the wwater box.
I still maintain if someday I'm an old fart laying in a nursing home and don't even know my name, I'll still remember that burnout.
