So I think I am going to finally put an end to all my quick fixes and rewire my bike this winter.  Something I really need to do is replace my worn and non functional hand controls.  Where can I find these things?  I have a 73 cb 750 and as you all know the hand levers and electric control are all 1 piece.  Will trying to find replacements be a hopeless journey?  I mean of all the guys out there rehabbing this model what are the options.  The biggest obstacle is the throttle is a push/pull setup and there is not getting around this.  Does anyone have advice on what they would do if they were doing a build up and could not salvage the original forward hand controls.  Thanks in advance.

Your options are nice original controls, either new or used.  OR, you can move the electrical functions elsewhere and use "chopper" style clutch perches, master cylinders, and throttle assemblies.  The back of the headlight works well for basic electrical switch controls.  You can use pull only, a large spring at the carb returns it, usually.

I adapted R6 controls from year 2005?  I think  and they work well. Even with the original throttle (mine is pull only) but the control has holes for push/pull.
Check them out on ebay, they look good too. The light switch is LH and only High/Low but I dont mind the light on all the time for safety.

Motion Pro and Emgo both make a push/pull throttle only to fit our bikes, meaning it has not hing else with it.  Check out Pingle for the actual electrical switches, they have some pretty cool stuff.

I run Yami 650 controls that I got from Mike's XS. They cost $60 each. They have all the functions that our OEM's have. They are pull cable only though and you have to use a Yami  cable. If you end up going that route...........I can give you the wiring instructions to convert to your bike.

So if I end up going the pull only route I can just go with a heavier return spring?

the motion pro throttle housing has both push an pull so you can run the return cable also
