71 CB500 considering LED lighting
« on: December 19, 2011, 02:56:23 PM »
Anyi=one have any first hand knknowledge of using LED lighting on a 71 CB500. I am interested to know if it is difficult, and more importantly is it brighter. Does it make a difference to the charging system on this bike?
Thanks!

depending on the leds yes it can be brighter, it will use less power therefor it could help with the charging system. i have leds on 3 of my bikes.
only problem is with the turnsignals if you dont use a resistor inline to make up for some current needed to mmkae the flasher work.
guess who?

There are flasher units available that are specifically for LED lighting systems. Otherwise, you will need to run a resistor to get your turn signals to "flash."
Take care,
