Stock camshaft specs

I have 4 cams #    r1  r2  r6 and r11    can anyone tell me anything about them?

Yes, you have 4 cams. Sorry but your R's don't tell you anything. Honda did not leave any markings on their cams that would be any benefit. Aftermarket cams, sometimes. Compare lobe heights is your best/easiest option. Guess you don't know which engines they came from? That's tell the story. 
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

ive seen those r# on cams,might be a die tag to trace them for faults?just out of interest ive only just seen this flat area with a hand stamped code,i dont remember seeing them before,,i just check the lobes height etc,,looks like A K,?the flat area looks factory with its irregular rough finish,its on the same part of the shank about 180 degrees around.


   random inspection check?

the r1 cam from a 1971 the r2 came from a late year 1971 the r6 from a 1975 the r11 i pulled from a 1978. they  have the cast in numbers near the cam chain sprocket ears. the inside of the numbers follow the same grainy texture as the rest of the cam.

The R1 and R2 are probably identical and would be good performance stock cams. The 75 depends on if it came from a K or a F. If it is from a K a good pair of athletic shoes might be better. Beginning in 73 perhaps? they detuned the engines. Some say for emissions. It could be that and or engine longevity. If the 75 came from a F then it could be one of the better cams. Mine ran like a scalded ass monkey until I blew it up and the cam was one of the reasons. The 78 is equivalent to the 75 F except it is off by 5 degrees for emissions but should have the same profile. If it's from a 78 F then it probably has the most lift of all. The cast numbers are like batch numbers and the general concensus is that they are simply cam blank mold numbers. All the cams had to be individually ground to their respective specs of the time once they came from the mold.

Thanks for the info.LOL athletic shoes i know it seems some of the k's are slow.
