New cafe bike with no title?

Why would anybody purchase a built from the ground up cafe bike that has no title? AND if you are in the business of building & selling cafe bikes would you not take care of the title first?

Why would someone buy one? no idea

But as for building one, there is a large amount of misinformation about how difficult it is to get a title for a bike, or car, for that matter. It would not be the first time I'd seen someone build something under that impression that getting said title is no big deal only to find it's a gigantic pain the ass.

 I wouldn't even BUY a bike without a title unless it was stupid cheap. Your state may be different, but around here, no title = parts bike.

kansas it has to be 35yrs or older and it qualifies for a antique tag but it can't have no leins or can't be hot. same goes with vehicles

I was just checking out a well known builder ;) of cafe bikes and I saw it mentioned in his build description.
His builds are great but the comment about no title just made me think WTF.

I  was birthed in Wichita, this  in itself is reason to re-establish residence.

The question is: Which state?
While it is really easy in some states (and some states don't even issue a title for bikes), other states can be a real problem. Here in Tennessee you can title the bike to the engine. So, you buy an engine with legible # and a bill of sale, build a frame, and off you go to the DMV. Or you go to a car dealership and have them verify the VIN. May cost a few bucks, but hey!
Ths may and does vary from state to state. On top of that some states may not accept a build title from another state, so even the title is no guaranty
Ask the (Hot Rod) guys in the People's Republic of California...

se thats where it get tricky here in ks it has to have numbers on the frame they will not go by engine numbers at all unless it's the older harleys that went by case numbers. then again it's a big hassle hell even car trailers have to be tagged now they made it that any double axle trailer requires a tag.

Tennessee is really easy, so is Georgia, as far as I know. Wow, tags on trailers, that wouldn't fly here  ;D
How do they handle home built bikes in Kansas?
Maybe a WIKI with licensing rules for all states would be nice...

Getting the title is usually a non-issue in most states or provinces, my point was if you are building and selling high dollar bikes wouldn't you have title ready for the buyer?
