G'Day Bill, by way of a "bump", I'm fascinated by that midget engine. I've not had much to do with midget racing, by chopping off the OEM gearbox, I presume you mount a car type gearbox to the alternator end of the crank, and still run the ignition from it's original position?
My cuz has got the remains of a little Honda S600 sports car at his place, it was powered by a 600cc DOHC engine with 4 carbs, thru a 4 spd gearbox to a differential that sat beneath the drivers seat with chain drive to the rear wheels through enclosed chain cases that also acted as an IRS setup. The 600cc engine's were pretty fragile, but I'm thinking an aircooled 750 engine might be a nice replacement, providing it got enough cool air, and of course, it'd keep the car "All Honda", ha ha! Cheers, Terry.
