i was working on my subaru and my finger got caught in the belt and went through the pulley

it was a stupid mistake and im pretty ashamed but ya stupid me

so this really sucks.... not only working on my car and bikes but i also build and design websites on the side, bartend and DJ so i litterally F'ed myself......

i guess i didnt really realize or appreciate my fingers and with this extremly close call these meat sticks of mine are gold right under the family jewels

i smooshed and fractured my finger tip bone, 4 stitches, lost the nail (hopefully not forever.....) i have a good chance it will come back.

I feel your pain. Two fingers on my left are touched by woodworking machines - my pinkie is shorter from it. Glad you are somewhat ok!

Dont forget your eyes. I had accident with bungee cord last spring and eyes are more important than anything else.

Thanks for the reminder. There was a drag car driver that reached in by the front of his running engine and his arm restraint got caught in the pulleys. He posted his misfortune as you did, to warn others of the danger. Thanks for the reminder.

ow yes the eyes i wear glasses then the huge safety shield for whatever im doing even spray painting

thats a pic like 2 hrs after your should see it before they wrapped it up when they where done

Hope there is no permanent damage. I cut the tip of my finger off with a table saw. We are not made of indestructible materials and sometimes our brains do not protect us from the hard sharp world. Let's gear up for our rides.

I once tore my leg open with a chain saw (don't even ask- "stupid is as stupid does"). Hopefuuly you'll be back with a full set of intact digits soon.

That looks good! I had my finger tip get caught in between a chain and sprocket when I was in high-school. That was no fun.

well ok..... i use uber tuff drive belts and from the get go they squeak a little bit.... so periodically while the engine is running i hold a brillo pad and resurface the belt and it stops the squeak when i turn on the car. (its like a 1 second squeak buts idk its a personal problem lol)

anyways i must have lost focus and the brillo pad started to come apart and then went into the next pulley pulling my hand and finger in

Yea, I feel your pain & know all about the stupidity too.

Lost the end of my finger installing a patio door, now I always think twice & ask for help when needed.

The pain is pretty bad but them Oxys are worse, threw mine away after 1 day. Get better soon.

my moms lost the tips, both nails and some bone on each of each of her middle fingers between the aluminum panels of a falling garage door, while trying to slow it during a power outage. neighbor took her to the ER. I showed up and she flipped me "the fingers" in good humor stating they F@#*ing hurt. l had to clean the debris from the garage door.

and am constantly reminded of the incident by the 2 small seam dents about shoulder-width apart when i pull up.....
